The Americana Community Music Association welcomes Tim Farrell on March 5 and Annie and Rod Capps on March 26 at the ACMA listening room located at All Faiths Unitarian Church, 2756 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.
Tim Farrell is one of only four artists to be honored as one of the 100 greatest acoustic guitarists who have also won Best Instrumental in the International Acoustic Music Awards.
With so many guitarists trying to make their mark these days, it’s not easy being a “trailblazer.” Yet, that perfectly defines Tim Farrell. His fingerstyle playing and original compositions display an elegant simplicity that celebrates the purity of the acoustic guitar. Tim is a rare kind of musician, with the ability to both entertain an audience and inspire future generations of players.
Silvia Medina will open the March 5 show at 7 p.m.
Songs about broken things and poignant little ponderings are delivered with a rootsy vibe, a touch of twang and a soulful groove. Annie and Rod Capps are on a musical journey that began in 1982, culminating into a symbiotic sound that reflects their deep and intuitive understanding of each other. Annie’s disarming, earthy voice and solid command of her guitar are punctuated by Rod’s effortless, accompaniment and beautiful solo work. Together they weave unforgettable melodies that are at once intricate and sparse – musically completing each others’ sentences.
Eileen Kozloff will open the show on March 26 at 7 p.m.
