The Alliance for the Arts will kick off December with a white-elephant-style exhibition of unwanted art. Not on My Walls is a collection that awaits your discerning eye. This sale will help you cycle out art that no longer fits your aesthetic, purchase new art and support the Alliance. All proceeds go right back into our community and the Alliance’s mission to transform lives and improve our community through the arts.
Also on display in December is the annual Members Only gallery exhibition, Small Works Off the Walls. This gallery show features artworks of all mediums priced at $200 or less. All sales are “cash and carry,” meaning purchasers will get to take the piece with them when they buy it, instead of waiting until the end of the exhibit.
Both events will open with a tacky holiday reception judged and hosted by Marc Collins and Stephanie Davis on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. Get first dibs and enjoy the camaraderie as well as light refreshments provided by Jayne Baker.
If a Saturday morning is more your speed, join the Alliance for the annual Arts & Ends Holiday Sale on Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The GreenMarket grounds will be filled with local crafters and artists will have tables laden with homemade items. Mark your calendars to check off your holiday shopping list.
Theatre Lobby Gallery: Art by John Merchant will be on display in the theatre lobby gallery, and Ella Ellis’ art will be shown in the member gallery.
The Alliance for the Arts is located at 11091 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers. For more information, call 239-939-2787 or visit online at www.ArtInLee.org.
