The 16th annual Southwest Florida Peace Day Block Party will be Sunday, Sept. 24 on Cottage Street in Fort Myers.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the area surrounding CasaShanti, 2052 Cottage St., Fort Myers.
For the past 15 years, SW Florida has witnessed the evolution of Peace Day that began with a small grassroots celebration at Jaycee Park in Cape Coral, with a few hundred people attending, and has grown to include thousands of people who come out for a day of peace with our community.

As Peace Day expanded, the venue has changed a few times to supply more parking spaces, a sudden new location due to damage from Hurricane Irma, and even to find ways to connect and celebrate when we couldn’t gather in person due to COVID-19.
Last year, Hurricane Ian caused wide destruction in our area, and the most recent venue, Wa-Ke-Hatchee Park, is not yet available for events.
“Are we going to let hurricane damage stop Peace Day? No, we are not! Flowing with change is part of being alive, and we know that peace is alive and well in our community,” says organizer Zachari VanDyne.

“We are holding the first Peace Day Block Party near downtown Fort Myers on Cottage Street,” he adds.
“The street will be closed at both ends for visitors to fully enjoy the fun activities, vendor booths, and opportunity to connect with the community and we’re excited to even more share in the sensation of that beautiful grassroots community feeling. We cordially invite you to come and keep the spiral of peace expanding and growing within our hearts, homes and community,” VanDyne says.
There will be amazing food trucks, vendor and artist booths, live music, entertainment, and fun for the whole family. “There are many more surprises yet to be revealed, so come and find out for yourself and step into the Peace Day Magick! This year’s theme is Community: Flow with It! Grow with It!”
Peace Day is a free family event and is pet friendly.
