In the month of September, DAAS Co-Op Art Gallery & Gifts is collaborating with Sirena Del Sol Vintage & Antiques for a very special display. The exhibition will feature a select collection of items from the store with original art by the gallery members, in an installation-style setting. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 4 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in conjunction with the monthly Fort Myers Art Walk. The exhibition will be on display through Sept. 26.
This is the first collaborative event between DAAS Co-Op and Sirena Del Sol. “The vision behind our shop is to give new life to vintage and antique pieces while lessening the impact on our environment,” says owner Marissa Keyes, whose store is just across the street from the Butterfly Estates complex. “We love when customers find the perfectly unexpected vintage item for their space.”
“I think that antique/vintage items and original art are the essential elements for good taste in decoration,” says DAAS Co-Op president David Acevedo. “Curating this type of inventory will be a first for me, but I am definitely up for the challenge.”
Marissa Keyes agrees, “Vintage and antiques are a great way to add an element of depth and meaning to your decor. Mixing old in with new is the perfect juxtaposition to take your interior to the next level. At Sirena Del Sol, we are constantly outsourcing, trying to find beautiful pieces for any home.”
DAAS invites all Southwest Florida art and antique collectors, supporters and enthusiasts to join them for the opening reception. As always, the gallery is filled with the most beautiful inventory of art, fine crafts, apparel, sculptures, pottery and jewelry, all produced here by the member artists. Note that all CDC recommendations are enforced during gatherings, including mandatory masks while inside the venue and limited amount of guests inside the gallery, for everyone’s protection.
DAAS Co-Op is located at 1815 Fowler St. in the Butterfly Estates complex in downtown Fort Myers. The gallery’s temporary business hours are Thursday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More information about the gallery or how to become a member can be found at www.daascoop.com or by calling 239-590-8645.
