Although the monthly Fort Myers Art Walk is canceled for April 3, the Arts for ACT Gallery will display some new exhibits through the month.
ACT Gallery welcomes the artists and poets who participated in Art Poems as well as members of the Southwest Florida Fine Craft Guild.
ArtPoems is a creative collaboration of artists and poets. As a platform for the creation of new art and poetry it adds a unique vision and voice to the Southwest Florida cultural landscape each year. Founded in 2007 by Lorraine Walker Williams and Joe Pacheco, ArtPoems celebrates its fourteenth year in 2020. Each season, ArtPoems artists and poets are paired and exchange art and poetry. The artists create new art works inspired by poetry and the poets write new poems inspired by artwork. New creations emerge from this shared inspiration and collaboration.

Southwest Florida Fine Craft Guild (SWFFCG) will exhibit recent work in “Creative Hands” at Arts for ACT in the White Gallery in April. Established for 30 years, SWFFCG features eclectic, mainly three-dimensional work by artists working in glass, stone, jewelry, fiber, ceramics, wood, and mixed media. Guild members are professionals in their fields and produce traditional and contemporary work at levels of excellence that must be experienced to fully appreciate the skill involved.
For more information about the guild, go online to www.swflfinecraftguild.org.
Instead of the normal opening reception, ACT Gallery will host a casual viewing of the art during normal business hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the month of April.
Arts for ACT Gallery is located at 2265 First St. in downtown Fort Myers. For more info, call 239-337-5050 or visit online at www.artsforactgallery.com.
