ArtBeat Studios features Laurie Weigold

Laurie Weigold of Sassy Mermaid Designs is one of December’s featured artists at ArtBeat Studios Gallery and Gifts. Originally from Wisconsin, Laurie’s love of Florida and need to create “art for her island soul” led her to move to Fort Myers in 2016.
Laurie had studied art and marketing in college and she was able to put her skills to use as a marketing and graphic design specialist, with extensive participation in many community service organizations.
Laurie is a mixed media artist — she uses various mediums to break the boundaries between different art forms. She paints with acrylics and adds embellishments to create unique, memorable and whimsical feelings for the pieces she creates.
Laurie’s desire to bring out the artist that lies within us all has propelled her into the world of teaching her craft. She conducts workshops in acrylic pour-painting, poured resin on charcuterie boards and coasters and her newest class “Fun, Furry & Fabulous” pet portraits.
Laurie has graciously donated her piece “Under Water Wonder” to the upcoming PACE fundraising event “A Night of Funky Cocktails” to be held at ArtBeat Studios Gallery and Gifts on Tuesday, Dec. 7.
