A multi-talented creative and imaginative artist, Alfonso Segovia began writing, painting and sculpting as a child in his native Colombia. His art is linked to his writing, and always tells a beautiful and interesting story.
Segovia creates a unique metamorphosis in his ballerinas, painting vibrant and intricate miniature landscapes on their colorful wings. The dancers are painted with butterflies, on palm trees and beaches, always under a marvelously starry sky with a shining full moon. The butterflies in Segovia’s paintings are anthropomorphized, given human traits and actions.
Alfonso Segovia’s passion has enabled him to utilize color and form to illustrate his universal world of fantasy and reality. His paintings and sculptures carry the magic of his fiction and non-fiction works that project his endlessly dreaming soul.
