Arts Bonita continues its exhilarating lineup of summer shows to captivate audiences of all ages and entertainment tastes.
From jazz and Latin rhythms to soulful blues and rock ‘n’ roll, this eclectic series promises to be a musical journey like no other.
The summer concert series at Arts Bonita features an extraordinary array of world-class performers, including renowned artists James “Blood” Ulmer, The Blues Beatles, Marlow Rosado, Jalan Baker, Zachary Bartholomew and more. These exceptional talents will grace our stage and deliver unforgettable performances throughout the summer.
You will be captivated as renowned guitar virtuoso James “Blood” Ulmer brings his soulful and innovative sound to Arts Bonita on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Don’t miss your chance to witness an electrifying performance by a true living legend. Ulmer is a world-famous American jazz, free-funk, and blues guitarist and singer who has forged his own soulful style based largely on African American vernacular music traditions. With his unique, jagged, and stinging guitar sounds, Ulmer has elevated the art form to an inspirational level.
The Jalen Baker Quarter will perform Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The quartet includes Jalen Baker, vibraphone; Paul Cornish, piano; Gavin Moolchan, drums; and Gabriel Godoy, bass. Jalen is a Houston-based vibraphonist who has toured and performed with musicians such as Ulysses Owens and Jeremy Pelt. Jalen’s quartet has performed at Jazz Showcase in Chicago, Cezanne Jazz Club in Houston, Timucua Arts in Orlando, and Good Times Jazz Club in Savannah, Ga.
The Blues Beatles are a blues band that mixes the melodies of the Beatles with traditional blues arrangements, a mix that has been winning in Brazil, the USA, and Europe. And they become an “instant sensation” everywhere they play: USA (New York City, Las Vegas, Chicago, Memphis, Orlando, Charlotte, Montgomery, Chattanooga), Denmark (Aarhus, Randers, Esbjerg, Skanderborg, Skagen, AAbybro, Agger) Brasilia, Goiania, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte… it’s a long list!
The mashup started during the breaks between rehearsals of Today, an original band that Marcos Viana, Flavio Naves, Lancaster Ferreira, Bruno Falcão, and Fred Barley started in 2010. The Blues Beatles perform Friday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Two-time Grammy-winning Latin music sensation Marlow Rosado makes his Bonita debut on Sept. 23. Get ready to experience a high-energy night of tropical Salsa music with Rosado and his 8-piece band, up close and personal in the Moe Auditorium.
Arts Bonita resident artist Zachary Bartholomew, a rising star piano virtuoso, will dazzle audiences throughout the season with his dynamic jazz performances including an endearing and interactive musical performance by his jazz trio, remembering legendary musician Chick Corea, on Sept. 28.
