Live music continues in June at Arts Bonita.
Get ready for a musical journey as Arts Bonita presents “Summer Fusion: A Musical Celebration,” featuring the Rick Howard Quartet on Thursday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, Moe Auditorium, located at 10150 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs.
Led by the charismatic Rick Howard, this quartet promises to charm audiences with a celebration of music, seamlessly blending jazz, blues, pop, Latin and timeless classics from the Great American Songbook.
Accompanying Rick Howard are the talented Ken Levinsky on piano, the rhythmic beats of Tony Vigilante on drums, and the solid bass lines provided by Jay Heavilin. Together, they promise an eclectic musical experience that will leave a lasting impression. Tickets are $45 for table seating and $35 for regular seating.
Jazz aficionados and music enthusiasts alike are in for a treat as Arts Bonita resident artist Dr. Zachary Bartholomew takes the stage June 27 at 7:30 p.m. with an exceptional ensemble for a innovative concert experience.

Embracing the sentiment of iconic musician Jack DeJohnette that “jazz has always been a world music,” Dr. Bartholomew, alongside internationally renowned ethnomusicologist and percussionist Michael Bakan, bassist Brandon Robertson and vocalist Nicole Bartholomew, invites audiences on a transcendent journey through the global soundscape of jazz.
This pioneering performance, titled “Jazz as World Music,” promises to charm audiences with a diverse program of world-inspired jazz and jazz-inspired world music. From the melodic rhythms of Duke Ellington to the intricate compositions of Mary Lou Williams, Dave Brubeck and John Coltrane, the ensemble will traverse continents and cultures, showcasing the universal language of jazz.
