Arts or ACT Gallery will hold an opening reception for artist Donna Chase and members of the Art League of Fort Myers on Friday, Dec. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. in conjunction with Fort Myers Art Walk.
ACT Gallery will feature semi-abstract collage artist Donna Chase in the main gallery. A group exhibit by members of the Art League of Fort Myers will be featured in the white gallery. Also showing will be new works from the gallery co-op artists.
Donna Chase entered her first juried art show in the fall of 2014. Soon after, her pop art chairs were accepted in the 2015 All Florida Show at the Alliance of the Arts and at the Sidney Bern Davis Center. This year, Donna was one of 12 artists selected for the “Art Lives Here” Billboard Campaign. She was invited in 2018 to participate in the RSW Airport – Art in Flight “My Florida” show and the Artists’ Studio Tour.
Donna’s art is playful, colorful and diverse. They can be found in private collections throughout the United States and in numerous juried art shows throughout Southwest Florida including Arts for ACT, the Visual Arts Center, and the Cape Coral Art League. Artist members of the former downtown Art League of Fort Myers gallery will be having a group show in the ACT White Gallery this December. For almost 20 years, this group of artists had monthly shows in their Monroe Street gallery and were part of the first Fort Myers Art Walk in 2008. Last March, their gallery closed permanently. The Art League of Fort Myers was the first Art League in Lee County. They have come together one last time to celebrate and show new art.
This exhibit continues through Monday, Dec. 28. Arts for ACT Gallery is located at 2265 First St. in the River District. For more details, call the gallery at 239-337-5050.
