In January, DAAS Co-Op Art Gallery & Gifts is showcasing the artwork of Bryant Ornes and his collection entitled Bohemians.
The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 6 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in conjunction with monthly Fort Myers Art Walk. The exhibition will be on display through Jan. 29.
Ornes is an artist based in Southwest Florida. He grew up in Metro Detroit, MI and spent a few of his formative years in Europe. As a child, he often had art supplies available and was encouraged to explore. Today, he continues to explore his creativity in different mediums such as painting, writing, and animation.
He previously worked in business strategy before concentrating fully on his artistic ambitions. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Michigan State University in 2012.

The work presented is vibrant and dynamic, as well as inviting. The subject in Ornes pieces always seem to express a fun aspect of life. “My work is the physical attempt at communicating my individual attitude toward life. It is a response to life as I see it. I think of each piece as a link in a chain instead of an end product. Spontaneity is important in my work and I like to portray a worry-free, self-confident energy,” says Ornes.
DAAS Co-Op Art Gallery & Gifts is located at 1815 Fowler St. in the Butterfly Estates complex in Fort Myers.
The gallery’s business hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
