Have No Fear: A Solo Exhibition by Carrie Briggs will be on display Dec.1 – 28 with a reception planned for Dec. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Have No Fear showcases the breathtaking works of Carrie Briggs. Prepare to be mesmerized by the emotion conveyed through her expressive clay sculptures, which are a direct reflection of the music she listens to while creating. Carrie’s pieces will be accompanied by a QR code that will link the viewer to the song that inspired the piece. Viewers are encouraged to bring headphones to the exhibition.
In her debut solo exhibition, sculptor Carrie Briggs captures the raw essence of music through her sculptures, incorporating the beat into every curve and line of her powerful figures. A native of New York, Carrie took a hand clay class at the Cape Coral Art Center in 2021 and reignited a passion for sculpting.
“I was moved through a personal spiritual awakening in parallel with a severe manic bipolar episode and sculpting erupted into my life at a furious pace. Sine then, a steady stream of sculptures has come through,” says Briggs.

ArtSocial evening workshops with George Hobbs are set for Dec. 7 and 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. The art center staff believes in expanding your creative horizons and providing you with new skills to add to your toolbox. With George Hobbs as your guide, each month you’ll have the opportunity to learn a brand new skill and unleash your inner artist. In December, participants will create alcohol ink designs.
ArtSocial is the perfect excuse for a girls’ night out, a unique date night, or simply a way to unwind and relax after a busy week. Put your worries aside and let your creativity flow in a fun and supportive environment. All materials are included. Guests are encouraged to bring drinks and snacks to share. Registration is required by calling 239-574-0802.
The Cape Coral Art Center is part of the City of Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Department and is located at 4533 Coronado Parkway in Rubicond Park.
