The Cape Coral Arts & Music Festival returns to South Cape Coral for its 35th year. More than 100,000 patrons are expected on Saturday, Jan. 11 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Cape Coral Parkway in South Cape Coral between Del Prado Boulevard and SE 10th Place. Admission and parking are free for festival attendees.
Festival goers will delight in world-class art and craftsmanship from artists carefully selected from entries submitted from all over the United States with a chance to meet and talk to the creators of the work displayed. Rated the 8th Best Art Festival in the nation, entry to the show is highly competitive and very sought after. Only 300 exhibitors will showcase their fine art, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, photography and much more.
Returning this year, local merchants and non-profits will be in the Marketplace section on the western end of the festival. Visitors can also enjoy live music as The Arts & Music Festival is partnering with iHeart Radio to bring musical acts from every genre to the stage.

Jim Morgan

Inspired by artist Jim Morgan, a former teacher and carpenter who was rendered totally blind after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle, the festival is now accessible to the visually impaired. Morgan designs clocks in his mind and then devises the method to build them by feel alone. To showcase his incredible talent and ingenuity, the Rotary Club invited him to be in the festival.
The Rotary Club has asked all participating exhibitors whose work can be enjoyed by touch to place a special banner in their booth to welcome sightless visitors.
“This is a first for the festival and we hope that this opportunity for the visually impaired to enjoy art and interact with the creators of that art will be very popular,” says John Jacobsen, founder and chair of the festival.
The 2020 event sponsors include Destination Boat Clubs, Direct Impressions, Downtowner Car Wash, Experience Real Estate, Happenings Magazine, Lamar, The Beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel, Waste Pro and Wonderland Realty.
