Charlotte Players: Blithe Spirit at Langdon Playhouse

EDITOR’S NOTE: This show has been postponed to Oct. 28 – Nov. 13.

Next up on the Charlotte Players season schedule is Blithe Spirit.
This play concerns the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a seance, hoping to gather material for his next book.
The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira, after the seance. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles’s marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.
Blithe Spirit will be performed Oct. 28 through Nov. 13, with at the Langdon Playhouse, 1182 Market Circle in Port Charlotte.
The Charlotte Players will not be presenting Neil Simon’s Rumors on stage Nov. 3 – 13 (more details are coming).
At the large, tastefully-appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of Farce.
Gathering for their tenth wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room, and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken and wife, Chris, must get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and mis-communications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.
