City of Fort Myers accepting arts and culture grant applications

The City of Fort Myers recognizes the importance of the arts to the cultural, educational, and economic well-being of its diverse population. In order to enhance access to a full range of cultural experiences, the city offers grant opportunities for arts and cultural programs within the local community.

The annual city-sponsored Arts and Culture grant application process is now open and will close on March 31, 2022. Awards will be announced in June of 2022 after all applications have been reviewed. Accordingly, the 2022 post-grant reports will be due May 31, 2023.

This grant opportunity is available and open to both individual artists and nonprofit organizations. To be eligible for this award, artists must live or work within the Fort Myers corporate city limits or create/perform work that makes a meaningful contribution to the arts and culture environment in the City of Fort Myers. The maximum grant funding for individual artists is $2,500. For nonprofit organizations, the grant requires production and/or presentation of a cultural program or festival within City of Fort Myers geographic boundaries. There are two types of grants offered for organizations: Operating Grants with a maximum grant amount of $10,000 and Project/Program Grants with a maximum grant amount of $5,000.
