Every year, City Tavern teams up with Legendary Automotive & Truck Service to host its annual 4th of July Chili Dog Eating Competition & Block Party to benefit local military heroes who have served for our freedom.
This fun-packed July 4th block party kicks off at 4 p.m. and will feature food by celebrity chef Brian Duffy, live music by DJ Juan Gomez & DJ Mickey McFly, dancing, drinks, fun and fireworks.
Proceeds will benefit the local American Legion Post #38 right here in downtown Fort Myers, which provides food, services and basic necessities – from household items to money for the electric bill – to local military veterans in need and relies solely on donations.
Special event highlights include the Chili Dog Eating Contest hosted/emceed by celebrity chef Brian Duffy at 6 p.m., followed by a giant check presentation to the American Legion Post #38, which serves an estimated 200 local veterans each month.
City fireworks are set for around 9:30 p.m.
