Monthly reception Thursday, Jan. 9
COCO Art Gallery located at 8074 Mediterranean Drive, Estero, in the Coconut Point Mall (next to Panera Bread) will showcase Art Quilters Unlimited Jan. 7 to Jan. 21.
The gallery’s monthly reception is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. Complimentary wine, food, and entertainment will be provided.
Janie Duke and Jan Pronko are the featured artists the weekend of Jan. 11 and 12. Janie Duke is one of a handful of artists that specialize in an old French technique called Pate De Verre, or paste of glass. She considers her work representative of Earth, Sky and Oceans. The effect she strives for is a serenity and calming effect on the viewer. Janie has studied and worked in Pate De Verre for over 8 years. Janie opened the Glass Duchess Studio in Port Charlotte in 2018.

Duke teaches beginning and advanced glass fusing techniques at her studio and the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda. She has been awarded Emerging Artist of 2017 from the Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda. In 2018, Janie’s work was chosen out of thousands of international artists to display her work in the Morean Art Center in St Petersburg. She is a participating member of GAS, Glass Artists Society and a member of the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda.
Faye Ormseth is the featured artist the weekend of Jan. 25 and 26.
