Finally, we are happy to announce the opening of our 58th Broadway season. This season, we indeed celebrate the best of our 58 years of fine entertainment. Season tickets and individual show tickets are on sale now, but again remember following the pandemic, our seating and schedules have changed. But what has not changed is the quality entertainment and affordable prices our patrons have been able to enjoy each year at Cultural Park Theater.
This season our production schedules are Thursdays at 7 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays at 3 p.m. With our priority of keeping everyone comfortable, safe and wonderfully entertained, the theater will open at 6 p.m. for our 7 p.m. shows and 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. shows. We will open the theater at 2 p.m. for matinees at 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. When you come in to the theater, you will be able to go directly to your seats so not to crowd the lobby areas. Also keeping with strict social distancing guidelines, we only are selling 55 seats of our 200 seat house, and we do require masks in the building. We have suspended our meet and greet with the cast after productions and to reduce congested hallways, you will be able to exit the theater through several doors at the end of the performance.
On Stage…Places Please! is an original musical revue and is the first show in our 2020-2021 season. It features many of our talented youth performers as well as a few familiar faces. On Stage…Places Please showcases the journey of young performers from auditions, through a rehearsal process and finally to the opening night of the production. The show includes many current Broadway tunes with a few classics thrown in along the way. The show runs Sept. 10 through Sept. 20.
We strongly suggest you call the box office early for tickets, as with the very limited seating we expect most productions to be sold out.
Next up on Sept. 24 through Oct. 4, we open our most popular revue, The Jersey Girls. A main stage staple at the theater, we are showcasing this revue revamped, fresh and original. Yet this show in itself has become a repeating hit on our stage by audience demand. Each recreation of this hit has had audiences on their feet singing, laughing and yes sometimes dancing in the aisles.
Since opening on our main stage in 2015 and now back by popular demand, Jersey Girls is a tribute to the many girl groups we all loved to hear like The Supremes, The Shirelles, The Angels and many more will take you back on a truly nostalgic trip with songs like “Stop in the Name of Love,” “Heat Wave,” “My Boyfriend’s Back” and many more, as our contestants gather at the Jersey Shore to compete for the coveted title of the Best Jersey Girl Group.
As we continue to work our way through the financial losses, watch our web site and social media pages for special events that will be celebrating and raising funds for Cultural Park Theater, our county’s oldest and best live theater venue.
We realize it is impossible to guarantee we can eliminate risk of people catching the virus outside of staying at home, but with our plans for reopening that are posted on our website along with continuing super sanitization of the building costumes, props limited contact with staff. We are taking every step to insure our patrons of the safety precautions when they enter Cultural Park. Our theater is daily fogged and sanitized with hospital grade disinfectant.
The Cultural Park Theater is located at 528 Cultural Park Blvd. in Cape Coral. Call the box office for more information at 239-772-5862 or visit www.culturalparktheater.com.
