Deadline May 20 to submit entry for Rumor or Reality exhibit

The Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center sends out a call for artists to enter a juried art exhibition!

Your art will be featured in the Grand Atrium from June 5 through June 25. The opening reception takes place on Friday, June 5 at 6 – 10 p.m. at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, located at 2301 First St. in downtown Fort Myers.

Hey all you ‘starving artists’ out there!

How would you like a shot at 500 bucks?

June Art Exhibition “Rumors Or Reality?” One of the biggest juried art exhibitions in Southwest Florida! The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is one of Southwest Florida’s greatest benefactors of the arts. The center maintains such a reputation in part by creating juried exhibitions in which the community can take part.

Opening night will be Friday, June 5 from 6 – 10 p.m.

Exhibition will be displayed in the Grand Atrium June 5 – 25.

Artists are invited to explore the theme of Rumors vs. Reality and can begin submitting their work digitally to be considered for the competition and exhibition by Saturday, May 20. Selected submissions will be displayed in our gallery during the month of June. Should the center not be open due to the current epidemic, they will host an online gallery showcase.

Previous years theme’s; Art of the Heart, The Art of Play, Elements of Architecture, Notes, X, It’s Raining Art and Edison vs. Tesla was last year.

•How To Enter Your Work

The Annual Juried Art Exhibition is asking artists to create work dealing with Rumors vs. Reality. Examine entities of folklore, creatures of legend, alternate realities in art work that can be any media. Entry fee is $20.

Any visual work that meets the theme should be registered here no later than Saturday, May 20. 

Curated by artist Cesar Aguilera, the show will be on display through June 25. Should the SBDAC not be open due to the current constraints, they will host an online gallery showcase. For more info, visit www.sbdac.com or call 239-333-1933.
