Arts Bonita continues its diverse lineup of shows to captivate audiences of all ages and entertainment tastes in December.
Brubeck Brothers Quartet will perform Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Growing up with jazz legend Dave Brubeck as their father, music has been an integral part of the lives of brothers Chris and Dan Brubeck. Together with their dad and independently, they have crafted music across various styles, paying homage to their father while charting their unique musical journey. The Brubeck Brothers Quartet, featuring Chris and Dan alongside guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb, has graced stages at renowned jazz festivals and concerts throughout North America and Europe, including the Newport, Detroit, Monterey, Playboy/Hollywood Bowl and Montreal Jazz Festivals. The Music Of Vince Guaraldi: A Charlie Brown Christmas will be presented Dec. 12 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Award-winning pianist and Arts Bonita resident Artist Dr. Zachary Bartholomew and his trio will entertain you with an interactive and informative concert of everybody’s favorite holiday music featuring the compositions and arrangements of jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi. In addition to enjoying a world-class musical performance, audiences will learn more about Guaraldi’s music, life, and musical involvement with a Charlie Brown Christmas Concert. Tickets are $35 general and $10 students.
Blue Highway will bring thier bluegrass sound to Bonita on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Blue Highway is a powerhouse in the world of contemporary bluegrass. With a legacy built on creativity, dedication, and a commitment to the roots of bluegrass, Blue Highway continues to be a driving force in the genre, captivating audiences worldwide with its unparalleled musical journey. The legendary Blue Highway Band has earned a collective 32 IBMA Awards, 6 SPBGMA Awards, one Dove Award, plus three Grammy nominations. Powerhouse vocalists Tim Stafford, Wayne Taylor and Shawn Lane produce harmonies that soar over the dynamic banjo of Jason Burleson and the Dobro of Gary Hultman. Tickets are $49 & $55.
Nanny Assis will perform Friday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. A recipient of the prestigious “Best Singer of the Year” award from the Brazilian International Press, Nanny Assis is a renowned musician and percussionist extraordinaire! A feast for the senses, Assis and his fantastic ensemble, will take everyone on a soulful, jazzy journey through the rhythms of Brazil and beyond. Tickets are $35.
Jason Marsalis will perform Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. As the youngest son of the legendary Ellis Marsalis Jr., part of the acclaimed New Orleans music dynasty crowned “America’s First Family of Jazz,” Marsalis is a true torchbearer of the jazz tradition. Marsalis is renowned as a stellar drummer and a vibraphonist extraordinaire; his 2018 release, Melody Reimagined, soared to the top of the Billboard jazz chart, leaving an indelible mark on the contemporary jazz scene. Tickets are $42 and $49.
Get ready to be transported to the soulful streets of Rio with the electrifying sounds of Rose Max and Ramatis on Friday, Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Max, acclaimed as the “Best Brazilian Singer,” joins forces with the multi-talented Ramatis, recognized as the “Best Brazilian Producer and Musician.” Ramatis, a virtuoso on guitar and bass, is a songwriter, musical producer, arranger, and sound engineer extraordinaire. Tickets are $35.
