The Sea Grape Chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America will celebrate 50 years of stitching with a needle art exhibit Feb. 8 – 10.
The special event will take place in Browning Hall at St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church, 5011 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers. Hours are Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5.
The exhibit will feature numerous hand stitched needle art items over the last 50 years as well as current items consisting of counted cross stitch, needlepoint, hardanger, beading, and samplers with a variety of stitching techniques. Our mission is to inspire passion for needle arts through education and celebration of its heritage.
The boutique will have a variety of hand stitched and beaded items by the members as well as an assortment of needlework related items, all available for purchase. Tickets will be available at the exhibit for a tea cup auction of basket filled with stitching related items. Attendees may vote for the exhibited needlework item of their choice to determine “people’s choice.”
