Neenie’s House is celebrating Black History Month with FashionSmack.
The latest happening at Neenie’s House in Fort Myers will be the launch party and fashion show of Jessica Wajoli’s new clothing line – WajoliAfricanWear on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Jessica has been a fixture in the art scene locally, with her jewelry and handcrafts from her homeland, Ghana. Her new designs are for men, women, and children. The clothes are totally original – the hand made cloth, the hand sown garments, and all are her own designs.
Cornell Bunting will be the emcee of the event, along with live DJ music playing reggae and afropop.
Neenie’s will also be showcasing African wines and coffees. The exposure of Jessica’s West African culture is groundbreaking here, and well needed in our multi-ethnic artist community. Janeen Vanko, the owner of Neenie’s House, is all about supporting and furthering local artists, at her East Palm Neighborhood shop & event space. It truly is an arts and cultural emporium. Join Jessica and Janeen for this poshfunk event.
FashionSmack will be Saturday, Feb. 6 from 2 to 6 p.m. The event and parking are free.
Neenie’s House also hosts the East Palm Mercado Neighborhood Marketplace every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Neenie’s House is located at 481 Marsh Ave., Fort Myers (just off Palm Beach Boulevard).
