Gerald Albright at Cape Sounds of Jazz canceled

Gerald Albright will headline this year’s Cape Coral Sounds of Jazz and Blues on Saturday, March 28 at Tarpon Point Marina.
The Sounds of Jazz and Blues is the premier musical event in Cape Coral. The Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department is proud to bring some of the best talents for a night of musical magic, food, and fun. Join in the citywide celebration of jazz and blues music.
In the late ‘90s, Gerald Albright, fronted a big band and toured with pop star Phil Collins and did a dual recording with vocal great, Will Downing called Pleasures of the Night. Between his last two Grammy-nominated solo albums Pushing The Envelope (2010) and Slam Dunk (2014), he enjoyed hit collaborations with two huge hits – 24/7 with guitarist Norman Brown and Summer Horns by Dave Koz and Friends (including Mindi Abair and Richard Elliot), which were also Grammy-nominated for Best Pop Instrumental Albums.
He toured with Brown and Summer Horns, and most recently has been on the road with South Africa gospel/jazz singer and guitarist Jonathan Butler.
Opening act will be Ella Jet & Future Soul playing from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Deb and The Dynamics will take the stage from 7 to 8 p.m. The evening’s headliner will perform 8:30 to 10 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m.
Advance tickets are available only online at www.capeconcerts.com.
General admission is $20 in advance, $25 at gate if available. Organizers highly encourage bringing chairs and blankets to enjoy the show. No seats are provided for general admission guests. Beverages will be available for purchase.
Experience tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at gate and include buffet style catered meal and 2 drink tabs for beer, wine or soda. Water is included. Table seating is provided with this ticket.
VIP ticket is $75 and includes upgraded buffet style catered meal and unlimited drinks (beer, wine, water, soda) and riverside table seating. Dinner will be served between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. For questions or special accommodations, email specialevents@capecoral.net.
