Gulfshore Opera has adjusted to these challenging times by offering an “Opera al Fresco” concert series which, by popular request, is extended into high season.
General director Steffanie Pearce explained, “ the open air concerts introduced this fall have met with such warm reception that we decided, just this week, to extend the series by offering some of our high season concerts in an outdoors setting. We are particularly grateful for St. Leo Catholic Church in Bonita Springs for the use of various locations on their campus.”

Viva Verdi Feb. 18 – 23
Nineteenth century Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi created 26 operas with rich themes and lifelike characters, vividly illustrating conflicts and love-hate relationships. The featured artist is returning dramatic soprano Robyn Marie Lamp who joined GO for Passionate Puccini last year and performed the title role of Lucrezia Borgia in the Season 5 Gala to great acclaim. Of her Verdi, one reviewer wrote, “Robyn Lamp has a radiant soprano voice which she handles with great expertise and ease. She plucked bell-like high As, Bs, and Cs out of some celestial sphere, always interpreting the text with deep-felt emotion.”
She will be joined by tenor Derrek Stark and baritone Jean Carlos Rodriguez, accompanied on piano by Brian Holman. They will present some of the master’s wonderful arias and ensembles, excerpted from Il Trovatore, Aida, Ernani, Don Carlos and other works to ensure both a musically appealing and emotionally infectious evening of opera highlights Feb. 18 – 23 in Sanibel, Punta Gorda and Naples.
