Gulfshore Opera offers several events to get you in the holiday spirit this year.
Join the GO Divas at Mercato on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Mercato lawn stage across from Silverspot Cinema. This popular, exciting vocal group of six beautiful, highly skilled women perform a variety of vocal ensembles with rich harmonies and piano accompaniment. Their repertoire spans the centuries from opera to unique arrangements of pop songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Chairs will be included in the ticket price with a cash bar also available. Tickets are $35 and $45.
On Dec. 2, rejoice with GO at the 8th Annual Holiday Taste of Opera at The Club at the Strand in Naples. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a wine reception followed by dinner and a show featuring holiday classics and opera favorites. The featured performer is New York City Opera artist, Elise Quagliata, who starred in GO’s Season 7 Carmen Gala. This annual yuletide tradition is hosted by Larry Waller and Becky Wilder.
On Dec. 9 and 14, GO will be on tour with the Holiday Harmony concerts in Charlotte and Lee counties. These one-hour concert feature two versatile Florida artists, Lauryn Kay, mezzo-soprano and Jonathan Tibbetts, baritone. Hum along to popular songs like “Baby it’s Cold Outside” and “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” and traditional Christmas carols like “O Holy Night.”.At some locations, the Gulfshore Opera Harmony Choir will join the professional artists for some children’s holiday songs.
Gulfshore Opera’s community engagement programs enrich the lives of a diverse cross-section of the Southwest Florida region. The Harmony Choir program provides musical and vocal instruction with choral singing for students of elementary and middle school ages. This after school program operates in Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties.
