Ollie Mack Gentry Photography Studio welcomes Heather Holahan with The Glitter and the Grind exhibit in August.
Heather Holahan’s childhood was straight out of the suburbs in Michigan, and has lived in Maui, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, and now Naples. She has always been interested in the dichotomy of the glitter and the grind of life. This is also the name of her blog, which features her photography and poetry.
Photography and writing are her passions and are her ways of expressing herself. She knew she was hooked on photography when she started setting the alarm at 5 am to travel to her location and catch the short and sweet golden hour after sunrise.
She appreciates the history of photographers working in the darkrooms and “shaking it like a polaroid” but she is a digital photographer. Her main medium is transferring her images into artwork on canvas. Her real satisfaction comes from one of her photographs resonating with someone on a personal level. Heather has had success with her art shows on Marco Island and Naples, and she is looking forward to connecting with the glitter and the grind of Fort Myers art world in August.
Artist receptions will be held on Friday, Aug. 4 during Art Walk and again on Friday, Aug. 18 during Music Walk.
