Hirdie Girdie Gallery has announced its December guest artist is Shirley Hales.
Shirley is well known in Southwest Florida as the founder of Harbour View Gallery in Cape Coral, and for her art association awards, including Southwest Florida Angel of the Arts nomination in 2010, and Arts Organization Leader of the Year Award in 2010.
She was instrumental in spearheading the first annual “Paint the Cape” plein air competition and exhibition, and was selected for the 2013 Alliance of the Arts Annual Art Studio Tour. Her award-winning artwork has been featured in major publications and exhibitions, and in galleries from New Jersey to Florida, including the COCO Gallery in Bonita Springs.
Shirley’s medium of choice is watercolor, and her preferred subject matter includes landscapes, seascapes, brilliant sunsets, nautical scenes, and wildlife, all of which enable her to express her enjoyment of nature and her passion for artistic realism.
In addition to painting, Shirley teaches at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers, and for Women of Watercolor in Naples.
Hirdie Girdie Gallery is located at 2490 Library Way, Sanibel.
