In October, DAAS Co-Op Art Gallery & Gifts is showcasing the artwork of Julia Da Rocha.
The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 7 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in conjunction with the monthly Fort Myers Art Walk.
The exhibition, entitled Crazy Bloom, will be on display through Oct. 30.
Julia Da Rocha is a graphic designer, illustrator, self-published children’s book author, and painter. Julia’s inspiration comes from her family’s heritage. Living in Uruguay in her early years and then Florida, where she currently resides, has helped shape the artist she is today. Her work exuberates bold, vibrant colors intertwined with abstract flowery patterns inviting the viewer to see nature in diverse ways.
In addition, this multi-talented artist licenses her design and art for a home decor company, and her artworks have been featured on HGTV, Joss & Main, Urban Outfitters, Hautelook, Home Goods, Target, and many others.
Da Rocha has been a member of the Union Artist Studios, the only organized artists’ studio group in all southwest Florida, since 2017. This is where her studio is located and where she continues to paint and develop her artistry.
DAAS Co-Op Art Gallery & Gifts is located at 1815 Fowler St. in the Butterfly Estates complex in Fort Myers. The gallery’s business hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More information about the venue and/or how to become a member can be found online at daascoop.com or by calling 239-590-8645.
