On Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m., The Laboratory Theater of Florida will be presenting another SoDis (socially distant) reading. This week, local journalist and playwright Melanie Payne has graciously allowed the theater to read her new play Inviting Marie.

This is a heart-warming story of love, marriage, and the damage that lifelong secrets can do, told with Mel’s unique wit and humor.
The readings may be viewed on the theater’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
The performance is free, but the theater is gratefully accepting donations on their website at www.laboratorytheaterflorida.com.
Previous readings include “The Realish Housewives of Fort Myers,” by Chicago Second City Alum Tim Sniffen and Kate James, William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” and “The Tempest,” “Charm” by Philip Dawkins, and Scott Sickles’ “The Intellectuals.”
