The Lee County Community Band will present A Festive Christmas on Sunday, Dec. 12 at Cape Coral High School.
The free performance is set for 3 p.m.
The selections promise to rekindle the magic of the season with traditional carols, “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and “Let Snow! Let it Snow;” focus on the sacred nature of Christmas with “Midnight in Bethlehem,” and get toes a-tapping with “Brazilian Sleighbells,” “Chanukah is Here” and “Christmas Swings.”
The band performs six concerts between November and April; all take place at Cape Coral High School, 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd., beginning at 3 p.m. The concerts are free (donations accepted) and open to the public.
Additional concert dates are Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 13, and April 10, 2022.
A legend in Southwest Florida, the band enjoys a large, loyal, and enthusiastic audience at every concert.
Programs typically include a mix of spirited marches, Broadway hits, old favorites, seasonal pieces, and sing-alongs.
Directed by Richard Bradstreet, the 50-member group is comprised of musicians from all walks of life – career musicians and amateurs – who reside in Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties.
The band welcomes new members every year. Persons interested in joining may phone John Fenn at 239-454-6430.
