Prepare for an afternoon of romance, show tunes, and rousing marches on Feb. 13 as Lee County Community Band presents Let Me Call You Sweetheart.
The concert is set for 3 p.m. at Cape Coral High School.
Under the direction of Richard Bradstreet, the band will perform Sousa’s “Black Horse Troop;” Hoagie Carmichael favorites including “The Nearness of You” and “Stardust;” the theme from the movie The Cowboys by John Williams; highlights from Fiddler on the Roof; and Leroy Anderson’s whimsical piece “The Typewriter.”
The band performs six concerts between November and April; all take place at Cape Coral High School, 2300 Santa Barbara Boulevard, beginning at 3 p.m. The concerts are free (donations welcome) and open to the public.
Additional concert dates are March 13 and April 10, 2022.
A legend in Southwest Florida, the 60-member adult band is comprised of career and amateur musicians and welcomes new members every year.
