On March 13, the Lee County Community Band will showcase its 21-member brass section with Tijuana Brass, Salute the Duke, and Trumpet Filigree.
The concert will be at Cape Coral High School beginning at 3 p.m.
Under the direction of Richard Bradstreet, the band also will lead the audience in an Irish sing-along; and perform robust marches, a medley of Broadway Hits, ‘S Wonderful, featuring vocalist Jan Fenn; Make the World Go Away, with vocalist Norman Jones; and all-time favorite Go Daddy-O.
The band performs six concerts between November and April; all take place at Cape Coral High School, 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd.. The programs are free (donations welcome) and open to the public.
The last concert of the season is set for April 10.
A legend in Southwest Florida, the 68-member adult band is comprised of career and amateur musicians. The original concert band of Lee County, the band and has been entertaining SW Florida audiences since 1985. Persons interested in joining may phone Frances Pace, president, at 239-481-1251.
