The Cape Coral Art Center has announced a new exhibit opening in April.
Love Your Mother is an environmental art exhibition curated by Michael Santacroce that offers an all-female perspective on the beauty and wonder of Mother Nature.
The 15 distinct artists that make up the exhibition use art to interpret their own personal experiences and relationships to the natural world around them.
The artists involved were encouraged to create using eco-friendly alternatives to traditional and unsustainable artistic methods and materials, to express their admiration of the Earth.
From spotlighting the significance of our local Florida ecosystem to focusing on global environmental endeavors, these artists strive to create a nurturing and thought-provoking exhibition that will leave the viewer enlightened and impassioned to make change in their communities, working together to help preserve our Earth and the many beautiful creations that belong to it. Motifs of resilience, endurance, reverence and compassion pervade the artwork on display, connecting the very human female experience to the grandiose personification of Mother Earth.
The exhibition will be on display April 1 – 21 with reception to meet the artists on the second Friday, April 8 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Love Your Mother features Lorrie Bennett, Francheska Castaño, Romina Combe, Patricia Fay, Beverly Fox, Breah Fyffe, Beata Gruca, Mya Hesby, Kait Hynoski, Lili Iriarte, Danielle Quina (Mooxie), Aracelly Peralta, Laina Seraphine, Shannon Vickers and Mary Voytek.
