The Charlotte Players continue their season with Murder at the Howard Johnson’s at the Langdon Playhouse in Port Charlotte.
Murder at the Howard Johnson’s will be staged Oct. 5 – 15 at Langdon Playhouse. Is all fair in love? Even murder? That’s the question posed by this light and funny suspense comedy about a love triangle in a Howard Johnson Motor Inn. The play presents a love triangle involving a woman, her lover, and her husband in three scenes. In the first scene, the wife and her lover plot to murder the husband. In the second scene, the wife and her husband are plotting to murder the lover. The third scene has the husband and the lover plotting to murder the wife, but this attempt, like the others, fails.
Murder at the Howard Johnson’s includes Arlene Miller (played by Allysa Hasler), her husband Paul Miller (played by Aaron Briggs), and her lover Dr. Mitchell Lovell (played by Aiden Tatro).
The Charlotte Players present The Foreigner Nov. 2 – 12 at Langdon Playhouse. What does a shy Englishman in search of rest do when he visits a fishing lodge in Georgia? Charlie Baker, a proof reader by day and a boring husband by night, adopts the persona of a foreigner who doesn’t understand English. When others begin to speak freely around him, he not only becomes privy to secrets both dangerous and frivolous, he also discovers an adventurous extrovert within himself.
