A simple stroll in downtown Fort Myers and you will see local talent celebrating legends of music on wooden cubes scattered along East First Street.
The Music Legends Never Die project is a collaboration between the Fort Myers Mural Society artists, the FSW Honors program and the River District Alliance as a way to help promote public art and music.
The local participating artists include Erik Schlake, JP Alamonacid, Holland King, Roland Ruocco, Leslie Morrow, Deb Lawless, Cheryl Logan, David Meo, Annie Crouch, Israel Alapazir, Mel Meo, Pat Collins, Eric Reimenschneider, Dharma Lefevre, Shari Shifrin and Kaila Sukkenikoff (FSW student intern).
Each artist picked a music legend to portray.
The 4 x 4 x 4 foot cubes are on display through April in various spots downtown. For more information about the Fort Myers Mural Society, visit www.fortmyersmuralsociety.com.
