“Music with a Mission” is a concert series by PeaceVision, that will bring artists and local nonprofits together to help those in need.

Brent Moyer from The Global Cowboy and Johnny Jensen Band will kick off the concert series at Ter-Tini’s in Fort Myers on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will go to support Harry Chapin Food Bank and Kimmie’s Recovery Zone. Ter-Tini’s is located at 1901 Crystal Drive.

Artist Brent Moyer, from The Global Cowboy will be traveling from Nashville to share the stage with Southwest Florida’s award-winning singer-songwriter Johnny Jensen Band. “We are excited for the opportunity to use our music to support the important work of Harry Chapin Food Bank and Kimmie’s Recovery Zone,” said Johnny Jensen. The series kick-off at Ter-Tini’s will adhere to CDC guidelines and has allotted ticket sales for 20% of its capacity.

“We are proud to use this powerful platform to support the nonprofit community,” said John Biffar, founder and chief creative officer of PeaceVision. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in one of the most significant public health crises of the last century, but there is also increasing concern about the effect the pandemic is having on other health issues, including the opioid epidemic and mental health. The pandemic has isolated those struggling with these issues and has made resources difficult to acquire.

Kimmie’s Recovery Zone is a new local nonprofit supporting the recovery community and those affected by Substance Use Disorder. “Recovery is a lifelong commitment,” said Al Kinkle, founder of Kimmie’s Recovery Zone. “The mission of Kimmie’s Recovery Zone is to mobilize resources to offer solutions for long-term recovery for the individual suffering from mental health and substance use disorders, as well as ease the pain of their family and friends. We appreciate the continued support of the community and our friends at PeaceVision, as we create Kimmie’s Recovery Zone.”

Kimmie’s Recovery Zone aims to walk alongside those suffering from Substance Use Disorder and mental health issues by promoting multiple pathways to recovery with one voice. Providing peer-based recovery services, public education, outreach programs, and advocacy while addressing the stigma of substance use and the individuals that combat these disorders daily.
