The Naples Concert Band announced its final two remaining concerts of its 2020-2021 season.

The concerts in the park will be held Sunday, April 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Friday, May 7 from 7 to 9 p.m.  Both events will be held at the Cambier Park band shell located at 755 Eighth Ave. S in Naples.

Under the direction of Harris Lanzel, the Naples Concert Band will present a Sunday concert in the park on April 18 in Naples. The concert will feature vocalist Mark Sanders, who will sing a medley of Neil Diamond’s “The Jazz Singer,” arranged by Jerry Nowak and “This is the Moment” from Frank Wildhorn’s epic Broadway Musical Jekyll and Hyde, specially arranged for Mark by the incredible Rick DeJonge.

Other compositions, including “Jubilee 150,” “Mexican Hat Dance,” “Journey to the Lion’s Castle,” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” soundtrack highlights, will also be performed by the popular band during the concert.

The final concert of the season – just added to the schedule – is a special Friday night, May 7 performance in Cambier Park. The NCB will present music of a lighter nature and feature popular local vocalists Craig Greusel and Jenny Bintliff.  Greusel will perform “Selections from Barnum” and Bintliff will sing a medley of Judy Garland’s favorites.

Highlights from “Beauty and the Beast,” “Variations on Scarborough Fair” and “Rock N’ Roll Explosion” are several other compositions on the May 7 program.

For 49 years, the Naples Concert Band has entertained Southwest Florida residents with memorable Concerts in the Park.

“We are excited about our final concerts during this unusual season, as well as those to come in our 50th season starting in the fall of 2021,” said Lanzel.

Admission to all Naples Concert Band performances are free, with donations appreciated. For more information, call the NCB Hotline at 239-270-1221 or visit www.NaplesConcertBand.org.
