Starting in November, on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m., Neenie’s House presents the Back Porch Concert Series.
Each event will feature a great local band, with special guest appearances from time to time, and breakout acts between sets. Could be comedy, magic, new talent, who knows?
The Back Porch series was designed to have a mini festival feel, showcasing not only local bands, but local artists’ works. Peace Plaza, Neenie’s back yard, has been totally redesigned with a new stage, flooring, and plenty of seating.
It’s a wonderful outdoor space, under the stars and the moon. There will be 50/50 raffles, food and drinks, with proceeds going to our Fort Myers homeless community.
Neenie’s House is the vision of founder Janeen Vanko who wanted to bring the arts to her East Palm neighborhood. It will soon be her fourth year here, and Janeen says it is still a struggle to get people to come out to the east end of Fort Myers. And that’s what the Back Porch show nights are all about. She hopes “Build it and they will come,” comes true. So plan on coming out and enjoying yourself, listening to great music, dancing and enjoying our local culture.
Each week leading up to the Nov. 4 show, Neenie’s will showcase one of the local bands scheduled to play through social media and other online sources. Learn all about your favorite artist with interesting facts and photos, so stay tuned. Neenie’s House has partnered with the Fort Recording Studio and the Hero Song Project, so stay tuned for more information on this exciting collaboration. Vanko is looking forward to seeing everyone Nov. 4 and 5 as Neenie’s House kicks off the Back Porch Concert Series.
