Detroit’s most famous electro-pop violin band will present its NUCLASSICA holiday concert from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5 at Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee to benefit Naples-based Freedom Waters Foundation.
NUCLASSICA appeared on America’s Got Talent. At the band’s concerts, the classically-trained musicians are accompanied by a dee-jay as they put their spin on popular songs such as “Titanium” by David Guetta and “Chandelier” by Sia. For the holiday-themed show, the performance will include renditions of carols and classics of the season. Band member Stacey Mason, former Miss America National Quality of Life Award Winner, will serve as emcee.
“People see us come out with violins and expect to hear Beethoven,” said Jordan Allen Broder, who founded the band in 2012. “They are surprised to hear popular music they know and love, and to get up and dance to it.”
“NUCLASSICA played at our annual Kind Mariners Ball fundraiser this past February, and our guests fell in love with how the band combines both a contemporary and classic feel to each song,” said Debra Frenkel, Freedom Waters Foundation founder and executive director. “We are so excited that they wanted to come back to Florida and present this special show to benefit our organization.”
The non-profit organization provides free therapeutic marine-related experiences to children and adults with life threatening illnesses or disabilities, at-risk youth and veterans.
Tickets are $50 and include an open bar and hors d’oeuvres buffet. Complimentary motor coach transportation is available from pick-up sites in Collier and Lee counties.
