Paul David Adamick at Hirdie Girdie

Hirdie Girdie Gallery will feature Paul David Adamick as its January guest artist, with an opening reception on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Paul was an elementary school art teacher for 41 years, and now in retirement is living his dream of joyfully creating art. Paul is very active at the Cape Coral Arts Center, where he teaches art to adults and children, and also takes classes in fused glass and raku fired clay.
He often combines these two mediums in his sculptures. On canvas, Paul’s primary medium was airbrush, but then he discovered bent wire art, which ties in with his love of drawing. He ”draws” with wire by shaping it on an airbrushed canvas, combining it with sculpture, or using it as a singular medium.
Paul will be exhibiting both canvas wall art and sculpture at Hirdie Girdie. Paul’s creations are brightly colored and playful, with simple motifs, and his art can be described as fun and whimsical. Paul is also active with the Southwest Florida Fine Craft Guild, and he has had three recent very successful one-man shows at area art organizations.
Hirdie Girdie Gallery is located at 2490 Library Way, Sanibel.
