Dance the night away Friday, July 16 from 9 p.m. to midnight as the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center presents a ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s Retro Dance Party, part of the 2021 Sounds of Summer music series.
Get out your bell bottoms, leg warmers, or zip off jeans and bring your best dance moves to get groovy and party like it’s the 20th century! This Dance Party will be held at Sidney’s Rooftop Sculpture Garden, the newest addition to downtown Fort Myers. It’s going to be a fun night to get groovy under the stars. Spinning the best ‘70s, ‘80s & ‘90s dance party hits will be 105.5 DJ Selecta AJ. Dressing up in your favorite decade attire is strongly encouraged.
Admission is $10. Doors open at 8:30 p.m., and the music starts at 9 p.m.
For the finale concert in the series, experience an evening with singer-songwriter Sheena Brook on Aug. 20. Sheena Brook will be playing original songs and talking about the inspiration and the process behind them. Sheena Brook has created her own sound by playing all types of genres. With her quick wit and ability to connect and interact with her audience, Sheena uses techniques like looping to create music on the fly that leaves anyone watching in awe. A Southwest Florida Native, Sheena Brook has a laid back style with an energetic and inviting vibe. Sheena has played at many festivals, written with hit writers and also appeared on NBC’s The Voice.
Admission is $10. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the performance is at 7:30 p.m.
