GOLD Entertainment presents The Return of Emerson, Lake and Palmer at Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee on Wednesday, Feb. 21 with doors opening at 7 p.m. and show begins at 8 p.m.
Emerson, Lake and Palmer was an English progressive rock super group formed in London in 1970. The band consisted of Keith Emerson (keyboards) of the Nice, Greg Lake of King Crimson (vocals, bass, guitar, producer), and Carl Palmer of Atomic Rooster (drums, percussion).
With nine RIAA-certified gold record albums in the United States and an estimated 48 million records sold worldwide, they are one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock groups of the 1970s, with a musical sound including adaptations of classical music with jazz and symphonic rock elements, dominated by Emerson’s flamboyant use of the Hammond organ, Moog synthesizer, and piano.
Their final performance occurred in 2010 at the High Voltage Festival in London to commemorate the band’s 40th anniversary. Emerson and Lake both died in 2016, leaving Palmer as the only surviving band member.
Through the wonders of modern technology and using previously unseen footage of the band at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1992, The Return of Emerson, Lake and Palmer reunites the band. The show incorporates Palmer drumming live alongside giant split-screen video walls of Emerson and Lake. Created by Palmer and his management, the tour is presented with the full cooperation of the estates of Emerson and Lake.
Advance tickets start at $69 and are available from Ticketmaster or at www.moreinparadise.com. In addition to the regular reserved seat ticket price, a 15% discounted price of $58.65 is available for drummers, which requires the password DRUMMERGOLD. Attendees must be 21. Parking is free.
