A new music competition for all ages is coming to Southwest Florida.

Rock The Stage 2021 is a new music competition in Southwest Florida to benefit The Lewis P. Tabarrini Children’s Music Outreach Foundation. Anyone of any age can participate; a solo or group, performing covers or original music. It’s an opportunity to take their musical journey to the next level. All participants that audition will receive valuable input from professional musicians to help them grow.

The Top 25 will showcase their talent on Nov.13 at the Rock The Stage Preview Show. The top three will then compete in the finals in December at the 1st Annual Rock The Stage Fest along with top local and national acts. The winner receives recording session time to record an EP at the world class Dream Studios. They will also receive a free year of the Performance, Songwriting, or Band Coaching programs from School of Rock Fort Myers. The two runners up each will receive a 1 one song EP courtesy of Howard Wulkan of Farmadelica Sound and six months of the Performance, Songwriting, or Band Coaching programs from School of Rock Fort Myers.

Auditions will be held weekly, every Sunday at School of Rock Fort Myers Sept. 26 through Oct. 31. Local and national performers and personalities will be judging auditions, offering valuable feedback and tips for improvement. Audition sign-up can be completed online at www.rockthestageswfl.com or by calling School of Rock at 239-932-7625.

Video audition submissions are accepted and highly encouraged as space and time will be limited. Submissions can be mailed to rockthestage2021@gmail.com until  Oct. 31. If chosen to perform live, those submitting videos will be required to attend.

Not every kid that wants to play music gets the chance to because of limited financial resources, or music programs being cut from school curriculums for lack of funding. The Tabarrini Foundation’s goal is to enrich and transform the lives of deserving children in Southwest Florida, by nurturing them in the joy of making music through group guitar lessons.
