The Sounds of Summer concert series continues in August with two tribute band shows back to back.
The Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center welcomes The Nowhere Band on Friday, Aug. 21 and the zStonez band on Saturday, Aug. 22. Doors open at 7 p.m. both nights for cocktails, and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for each show are $22 (general admission). Due to CDC guidelines for social distancing, seating is strictly limited and masks are strongly recommended.
The Nowhere Band is Southwest Florida’s premier Beatles tribute band. Covering the full spectrum of The Beatles’ long and varied career, The Nowhere Band creates an unparalleled reproduction, entirely live (with no pre-recorded material), of ‘60s Beatles performances. The band blends period costumes, authentic instruments, modern lighting, and an abundantly talented quartet of musicians to create an experience any true Beatles fan, young or young-at-heart, simply can’t afford to miss.
The zSTONEz is Southwest Florida’s premier Rolling Stones tribute band. The band blends period costumes, authentic instruments, modern lighting, and an abundantly talented quartet of musicians to create an experience any true Rolling Stones fan, young or young-at-heart, simply can’t afford to miss.
Other concerts this summer have included dueling pianos with David Rode and Sarah Hadeka Williams in June and Sheena Brook and The F.E.M. Collective in July. The August show is usually a songwriter competition as part of the Island Hopper Songwriters Festival. That competition was canceled when the annual 10-day Island Hopper festival was canceled for this year.
The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located at 2301 First St. in the historic downtown Fort Myers River District. Call the box office for more info at 239-333-1933 or visit online at www.sbdac.com.
