The Southwest Florida Concert Band will perform A Florida Family Christmas concert on Sunday Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church 13411 Shire Lane, Fort Myers.
The 40-member community band will perform a concert of seasonal music.
The program will start the journey with the Christmas classics, “The Most Wonderful Time of Year” and Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.” Sammy Nestico’s swinging “Fireside Christmas” is sure to get you in the mood as well as “Hey Man, Christmas Swings.” The band will perform “Christmas on Broadway” and Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” with all the familiar melodies you know and love. One of the highlights will be music from the Nutcracker and “Christmas Music for Winds.” The band will perform the popular “Feliz Navidad” and “Festive Sounds of Hanukah.” They even have music for the young and young at heart with “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and the narrated version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
