Stardust Memories Big Band in 9th season

The Stardust Memories Big Band (SMBB) has returned for its ninth season, performing outdoor, evening concerts in Cambier Park in Naples and Riverside Park in Bonita Springs. The band plays the music of the legendary American big bands including Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Artie Shaw, Woody Herman, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Doc Severinsen and The Tonight Show Band, and many more.
The 2023 outdoor series consists of five different theme-based shows, each of which is performed at Cambier Park in Naples (Monday nights) and at Riverside Park in Bonita Springs (Tuesday nights).

Here is the 2023 schedule:
“Big Band Classics” Jan. 23 & 24
“The Tonight Show Band” Feb. 6 & 7
“Big Band Goes to the Movies” Feb. 20 and 21
“The Great American Songbook – featuring Danny Sinoff March 6 & 7
“Stan Kenton” March 20 & 21

All shows are from 7 to 9 p.m. and each show will be advertised in The Naples Daily News “In the 239” on Fridays, and in The Bonita “Banner” on Saturdays before each show.
A $5 per person suggested donation is requested by the band.
The SMBB is the vision of founder and band leader Craig Christman, and brings together some of Florida’s finest jazz professionals (Naples, Fort Myers, Tampa, Sarasota, Orlando, Miami). These working professionals have a collective resume that includes The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Woody Herman Band, The Jay Leno Tonight Show Band, Tower of Power, The Count Basie Orchestra, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Airmen of Note, Wayne Cochran and the C.C. Riders, Chicago, and performances with artists including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Doc Severinsen, Quincy Jones, Johnny Mathis, Rod Stewart, Nathalie Cole, Steve and Eydie Gorme, Nat King Cole, Ann Hampton Callaway, Tom Jones, Lou Rawls, Barry Manilow, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Byron Stripling, Carmen Bradford, and numerous orchestras and Broadway shows.
