The music continues at the Center for Performing Arts in Bonita Springs. A variety of musical events, comedy, theatre and films are scheduled through the summer and into the fall.
The Centers for the Arts of Bonita Springs hosts its regular “Musical Moments” series. Musical Moments presents Back to the Future on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. in Moe Auditorium. This program highlights outstanding student performers throughout the Southwest Florida region, including competition winners. Delicious complimentary tastings are served during intermission. Tickets are $25.
The Steepwater Band was originally scheduled to perform Friday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. in Hinman Auditorium. Hurricane Dorian has forced the concert to be rescheduled for Nov. 16.
Formed in Chicago back in 1998, The Steepwater Band’s signature sound is a nod to early British blues, combined with a modern, raw and gutsy musical approach. Although the band got their start as devotees of delta blues, they have since been expanding on their influences, absorbing everything from Psychedelia to Americana, from jazz to ‘50s rock n’ roll. They have toured and shared the stage with acts such as Gov’t Mule, Buddy Guy, Wilco and many more.
Their latest album Shake Your Faith has a wide range of sounds from straight ahead rock n roll to a psychedelic samba, and lyrical direction that extends from love to murder. This album is the true meaning of just that. An album – a collective piece of music that’s meant to be heard front to back. Saylors adds “The way the whole record flows, it’s like one long song… takes you on a little journey.” Tickets for Steepwater Band start at $20.
Terry Sylvester, formerly of The Hollies, will perform Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $25.
