The Symphonic Chorale’s Memorial Concert “Before the Morning Watch” dedicated to its founding president Alan Wioskowski was canceled suddenly last March due to Covid.
The chorale has announced that it is now rescheduled for Sunday, March 14 at 4 p.m. in Naples. Admission is free, but tickets are required and available through the church’s website beginning Feb. 23.
The concert is part of Moorings popular Hyacinth Series, celebrating its 39th season. The highlight of this Memorial Concert is the performance of John Rutter’s glorious Requiem accompanied by organist Thomas Goetz on the beautiful Nichols & Simpson Organ with over 4,300 pipes.
“The acoustics and the organ at Moorings are spectacular,” said chorale artistic director Trent Brown. “It is a wonderful venue to perform in and even through everyone will be masked and spread out across the large altar area, it will be a powerful experience for everyone involved.”
The chorale is inviting members of the SW Florida community to join with them at this Memorial Concert in remembering a deceased loved one with a memorial gift to the Chorale of $50 or more. Loved ones will be recognized on a large poster at the Concert and donors will be sent a Keepsake Certificate after the performance. Names must be received by March 3 to be included on the poster.
