World-class string instrumentalists launch the 2020-2021 chamber music season Friday, Nov. 20 at the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center.
Enjoy an unforgettable evening of live classical music from New York Philharmonic concertmaster Frank Huang, principal associate concertmaster Sheryl Staples, principal violist Cynthia Phelps and principal cellist Carter Brey.
The New York Philharmonic String Quartet is the first chamber concert of the season. During the New York Philharmonic’s 175th anniversary season, four virtuosi principal musicians made the wise decision to form a string quartet resulting in a fabulous treat for the rest of us. All four of the Quartet’s members have won multiple prestigious prizes and have performed as concerto soloists with the New York Philharmonic and orchestras around the world.
Although only recently established in January 2017, the ensemble made their first public appearance a mere two months later, at David Geffen Hall in New York City, with a performance of John Adams’s 2012 work for string quartet and orchestra, Absolute Jest.
The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located at 2301 First St. in downtown Fort Myers. Tickets are $45.
