As we finish the last weekend performances of the comedy Visit to a Small Planet, we gear up to finish our 58th season and announce a very special final show of the season. On stage April 8 through April 11 will be The Reveille Revue.
We think every day is appropriate for honoring our veterans. But this year is special. This year, Cultural Park Theater is joining hands with the Brotherhood of Heroes Museum to raise much needed funds for both organizations as we come out of the year long pandemic. Back on stage again, this veteran tribute show salutes all the men and women who have served and are serving in the armed forces along with police and fire dept. first responders.
Attendees for both the indoor and outdoor event will take a musical trip back in time for a good cause this weekend as Cultural Park Theater presents its salute to America, with a steady stream of hits including “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Moonlight Serenade” and “Sentimental Journey.”
The revue will be presented live on stage at the theater on April 8, 9 and 11 with a special performance on April 10 in the park behind the theater at 3 p.m. While the music that was popular with our troops through all of the wars and conflicts our veterans have served, I defy you to tell me you don’t remember many of them yourself. Music has played and continues to play an important part in the lives of our brave fighting men and women but it also helped get our country through these times and to heal after. The park performance along with the show will also feature the food and beverage trucks on hand and importantly this event will also help raise money for the Brotherhood of Heroes Museum and its services. Bring your own chairs or blankets and enjoy this very special performance and help thank all the men and women who have served this country so well.
The museum will have some wonderful display’s set up in the theater showcasing the memorabilia and collectables you can see when you visit the museum and resource center.
We will also be honoring some of our local veterans with tributes to their particular service to our country when they we on active duty.
Performances will be Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m. in the theater. Friday, April 9 at 8 p.m. also in the theater and Sunday, April 11 at 3 p.m. on stage in the theater. Of course, our special performance will be in the park on Saturday, April 10 at 3 p.m. For more information, call the box office at 239-772-5862 or visit our website at www.culturalparktheater.com and Facebook page.
